Whistler Community Services Society
The Whistler Community Services Society building provides the residents of Whistler with a centralized location to access many well-known WCSS services. The building houses the Re-Use-It Centre, Food Bank, Outreach, and Counselling services which had previously been located at various sites throughout the community.
Mass timber was used as the main structural system as well as the interior finish. The mass timber components were factory-manufactured and then site-assembled over a few weeks. This allowed for accuracy, reduced construction waste, and was a great fit with Whistler’s short construction season. The result is a sustainable and efficient wood building with warm and welcoming interiors.
